Mother

Mother - that title is such an honor for me to wear. There are many things I have done in life that I am proud of, but becoming a Mother to these two girls tops my list.

It has shaped me and stretched me, it has inspired and motivated me. It has shown me my strengths and also my flaws. It has been the most joy filled 8 years and also some of the most terrifying. I have laughed some of my most heartfelt, belly-shaking laughs, and cried some of my deepest, most sorrowful tears. I have felt such joy that I never thought possible, and felt fear deeper than any pit. I have learned how to give and receive grace, and that my intuition is something not to be ignored. I have spent nights awake wishing I could just get some sleep, and many nights awake watching them sleep.

As a Mother, I have realized the value and the fragility of life. I have come to see every decision I make from another perspective - how would this impact my life AND how will it impact theirs?

The honor of being Mother to these two girls has been the most incredible journey of my life & for that, I am filled with so much gratitude.

girls, I pray that I will aways be a refuge for you in times of hardship, a shoulder to lean on in times of trouble, an ear that will hear your voice, even when it’s shaking. I pray that wherever I am, you will always find yourself at home, you will always know your power and your kindness that come from within. I hope that our conversations will continue to be meaningful, and silly, fun and hard, and that no topic would ever be off the table.

No matter what the world throws your way, I, alongside your Daddy will always be your biggest supporter.
