Inflammation

A friend called me the other day and said she couldn’t help but notice a difference in my face. I hadn’t seen it for myself yet, but I guess that’s what happens when you look at your reflection in the mirror every day.

Seeing this side by side, I can’t help but notice the difference. So much inflammation in my body on the left, and the pic on the right is only after a month of eating well & radical self-care.

Looking at this pic I also remember how frequently I felt aches and pains. I remember how I felt that day, it was a “good day”, and hey, I compare it to how I feel right now, and I can’t believe what I used to consider a baseline for a good day.

Honestly, I’m nervous to share this pic (ugh, that voice in my head is doing overtime), but I want to show what inflammation looks like in our body. It’s not something that is just felt our joints and it looks different for each of us. But inflammation impacts our whole body without us realizing it, and it happens over time so we don’t really even notice.

I’m not going to lie and say switching my habits was a cake walk, it wasn’t easy and at times I wanted to cry and quit, but I just keep reminding myself of how good it feels to feel good.

So, if you’re on a path of healing, I want to encourage you today to stick with it. I see you. I know it’s hard, but I also know you deserve to feel good.

💕✨
