Today the Young Living family celebrate the life of Gary Young... All week I've been thinking about this incredible man who caught a vision for health, wellness and abundance and chased after that with every part of his being.
He has impacted the life of our family in so many ways, from the products we use constantly all day to the business I have built. He has impacted the YL community in countless ways. I am sure pretty much every single person would have a story to tell of how Gary or his products have bettered their life.
On a personal level, I will never forget the first time I met Gary... on a cruise in the Mediterranean where I had been gifted the free trip as an award for my teams work with YL. When he talked to you, he gave you his focus... he asked you about YOU and he actually listened. I remember he joked that "well, I better never forget your name, since it's the same as my good wifes" and you know what? He never did forget my name. Every encounter I had with him after that he greeted me with something along the lines of "Hello Mary, how are you?"
That doesn't make me special, that makes HIM special. Taking the time to remember people and to actually SEE them, that is a precious gift, my friends.
All this doesn't even mention his pure geniousness when it comes to essential oils. He is undoubtedly the father of the modern day Essential Oil movement. He brought that to the USA and if you've used essential oils, no matter if you've ever smelled a bottle of Young Living oil before or not, he had a hand in that.
Today I honor the man who didn't give up when people told him no. He didn't throw in the towel when people talked poorly of him. He never took it to heart when people couldn't catch his vision. He just knew in his heart with such conviction that what he was doing was worthwhile and he went for it.

Oh boy, he went for it.
I choose to be more like that. Less giving a crap of what the naysayers have to say, and just doing what your heart tells you to so.
So, as I sit here applying Valor, (my most favorite oil ever) very liberally, getting ready to join in with his Celebration of Life remotely I say a heartfelt Thank you, Gary.
Thank you from our family. We have so much gratitude for you & will do you proud.
